Icon Studios has opened its new headquarters at 728 N. Prospect St. in Rockford.
It features space for music recording, video production, podcasting and other creative endeavors.
“Anyone and everyone is welcomed here, and we’re really excited to make this a creative hub for Rockford,” said Yash Musabji, who owns Icon with Chad Bettis.

Rockford artist Jesse T. Leach is set to attempt an artistic endurance event in which he will paint for 72 consecutive hours without sleep.
It will begin at 8 a.m. July 31 and end at 8 a.m. Aug. 3 at Souljah Wellness in downtown Rockford.

Work has begun to build the first homes in a south Rockford subdivision that was started nearly 20 years ago but halted by the onset of the Great Recession.
The development partners behind the future Greenway Meadows subdivision broke ground on Monday on the first homes along Ashwindale Lane, which is south of Linden Road and west of 35th Street.
