DeKalb Leadership Academy Hosting Personal Hygiene Drive

The DeKalb Leadership Academy is hosting a ‘CareKits’ donation drive to collect, assemble, and donate personal hygiene products to those in need throughout DeKalb County. From March 1st through March 15th, they are looking for donations of new, unopened items like: toothbrushes, body wash, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, socks, underwear, face masks, hand sanitizer, and more! You can also make a monetary donation towards the purchase of additional items.

National Weather Service Hosting Virtual Storm Spotter Course

Per the DeKalb Police Department: In recent years, the Police Department has hosted a certified National Weather Service weather spotter course, typically held in February or March. This year due to COVID restrictions, the National Weather Service is holding virtual courses. These classes are free and open to the public.
