The internet has devised a new challenge – the #10YearChallenge – and it’s one that made me strangely emotional. Find a photo of yourself from the beginning of the decade and compare it side by side to a photo of your at the end of the decade. Here’s mine:
10 years ago … I had just transferred to EIU. I was about to turn 21. I had just joined a sorority. I was living in my 1st apartment. I had just discovered college radio. I barely slept. I was bleaching my hair and dying it bright red. I always did my makeup before going out and I could still wear contacts!
10 years later … My life revolves around work. I have to watch what I eat. I barely have the energy to maintain a social life. I wear glasses on the regular and all my makeup is expired. BUT, I also traveled nationally and internationally for the first time. I became a dog mom. I bought my first car. I met and moved into a house with my boyfriend. And I run my own god damn morning radio show.
A LOT has changed in 10 years. It’s wild to reflect on. Now bring on the next decade.
