New in Theaters – The new “Charlie’s Angels” movie is out this weekend. It’s up against Matt Damon and Christian Bale in “Ford v Ferrari” and Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren in the crime thriller “The Good Liar”
There is more drama in Taylor Swift’s world. She posted a note on social last night explaining how she was going to be honored with the Artist of the Decade award at the upcoming American Music Awards and had planned to perform a medley of her hits throughout the years. However, she says that music execs Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta won’t allow it. If you remember, Scott Borchetta was the head of her former music label and he chose to sell her music to Scooter Braun against her wishes. Taylor has since vowed to re-record her first 6 albums under her new label in order to regain control of her music. Well, Taylor says that now they won’t allow her to perform any of her old songs on TV unless she agrees NOT to re-record next year. The Swifties are outraged. There’s an online petition that’s already got over 60,000 signatures. I don’t know why she doesn’t just do the performance, and then deal with the legal repercussions. It’s not like she doesn’t have the money to take them on in court. I know it’s a principal thing – she doesn’t want other young artists to make the same mistakes and get wrapped up in the same industry nonsense. I respect it.

Come 2020, we might not be springing forward anymore! Earlier this week, the Illinois Senate passed a bill that would make Daylight Saving Time permanent. If the bill is passed by the house, year-round Daylight Saving Time would be set to begin in March 2020 and we would never have to set the clocks back ever again.
Motorola announced that its bringing back the RAZR flip phone in December! It’s obviously got some upgrades, but it looks very close to the original design of the early 2000s! Until you flip it open, then it looks like any normal smart phone. It’ll cost $1500.

Netflix is bringing back the Beverly Hills Cop franchise. They’re teaming with Paramount to make a 4th movie starring Eddie Murphy, of course. There’s no word on any other casting or a premiere date. The last Beverly Hills Cop movie came out in 1994.
The world’s largest Starbucks opens in Chicago today. It’s 35,000 square-feet and 5 stories tall. The building has three coffee bars, a bakery, a roof terrace, and a cocktail bar.
Scientists tested different makeup samples at stores, like lipstick, mascara, eye shadow, and blush, and found them covered with nastiness! They found mold, E.coli, staph and MRSA infections, and herpes. So yeah, you might want to rethink sharing makeup because apparently you can get an STD.
