Thanksgiving travel will reach record numbers — Disney + grabbed 10 million subscribers in one day — Netflix is teaming with Nickelodeon to compete against Disney’s success — Andy Serkis has been cast as Alfred Pennyworth — The CMAs honored the women of country music, then named Garth Brooks Entertainer of the Year

Holiday travel is always a nightmare and TSA says to brace for a record number of fliers this year. They’re expecting about 26.8 million passengers to pass through TSA checkpoints from Fri Nov 22 through Mon Dec 2. That’s about 4% more people than last year. The busiest travel day will be Dec 1st. They’re expecting as many as 3 million passengers on that Sunday after Thanksgiving. If you haven’t booked your flights out of town yet, maybe try to avoid flying on that day.

So you know how there were all those technical difficulties with the launch of Disney +? It’s because 10 million people subscribed to the service on their first day. Experts thought it would take a year to hit that number. Disney did it in ONE DAY.

Just one day after the premiere of Disney +, Netflix announced that they had struck a deal with Nickelodeon to produce original animated feature films and television series, based both on the Nickelodeon library of characters and new characters. Disney has Netflix shook! It’s pretty win-win for those of us trying to relive our childhoods.

It’s official. Andy Serkis will play Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman. My Precious, Master Wayne… Director Matt Reeves confirmed the news on Twitter yesterday. He’s added to a cast featuring: Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Jeffrey Wright as GCPD commissioner Jim Gordon, Paul Dano as Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and reportedly Colin Farrell as Penguin. The Batman is scheduled to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.

The CMA Awards went down last night with many an amazing performance! If there’s one thing Country Award Shows excel at – it’s definitely the live performances.  As for the awards: Garth Brooks won Entertainer of the Year, which seems to be a choice not many loved. A lot of people expected Carrie Underwood to win this, especially since the show was very focused on highlighting the women of country music this year. I’m also reading a lot of comments from people saying Eric Church and Chris Stapleton were more deserving. Hey – there’s always next year! Other award highlights include:

Male Vocalist of the Year: Luke Combs

Female Vocalist of the Year: Kacey Musgraves

Vocal Duo of the Year: Dan + Shay

Album of the Year: “Girl”, Maren Morris

Musical Event of the Year: “Old Town Road (Remix)”, Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus – YES the Country Music Association had to acknowledge the success of Old Town Road, whether they liked it or not!
