Two DeKalb County residents, Melissa Butts and Katie Norris-Geer, had an idea on Friday to start the Taking Care of our Caretakers GoFundMe campaign. They wanted to raise money that would purchase food from local restaurants to be delivered to healthcare workers. Their initial goal was $1000. They surpassed that goal in less than 24 hours and have continued to up to the goal in response to the massive support the community has shown. As of Monday morning, their fundraiser now has $8400 in donations!
