Since April 2020, Basics DeKalb County and DeKalb County Regional Office of Education have distributed over 55,000 diapers to families in need. Our funding for diapers has run out, but our families are still in need. 85% percent of the families we have served reported having their household income affected due to COVID 19.
The DeKalb County ROE and Basics DeKalb County are partnering with the Fox Valley Family YMCA West branch to host a 2-week long Stuff-a-bus diaper drive. From September 21st through September 25th a bus will be parked at the Fox Valley Family YMCA west branch at 707 S. Main Street in Sandwich. From September 28th through October 1st the bus will be parked at the DeKalb County ROE at 2500 N. Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb.
Any size or any brand of baby diapers are accepted. If preferred, monetary donations may be dropped off at the ROE or given electronically at https://www.facebook.com/Frien
All diapers collected will be distributed in accordance with DeKalb County Community Gardens Grow Mobile pantries throughout the county.
