At the weekend box office – Frozen II remained on top for a third week in a row adding another $34.7 million to its total. Globally, it’s made $919.7 million. Disney has now become the only studio to ever cross the $10 billion mark at the worldwide box office in one year.

Knives Out ($14.2M), Ford V Ferrari ($6.5M), Queen & Slim ($6.5M), and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood ($5.2M) made up the Top 5 movies this weekend. Which means the weekends new releases didn’t do so hot. Dark Waters came in 6th with $4.1 million while the animated adventure Playmobil didn’t even crack the Top 10. It opened to only $660,000 which is the third worst wide release opening ever.

The 1st Wonder Woman 1984 trailer dropped on Sunday at CCXP (Comic Con Xperience in Sao Paulo, Brazil). It is WONDERFUL. Set in 1984, as the title suggests, it takes place 40 years after her WWI origin story and follows a lonely Diana Prince in a more modern world. She continues her duty to protect humanity and then befriends Barbara Minerva (AKA Cheetah), as played by Kristin Wiig. Oh and then of course there’s the return of her love interest Steve Trevor, as played by Chris Pine. Nope – they don’t explain how he’s back after that sacrificial helicopter explosion. If he did survive, that doesn’t explain how he hasn’t aged. But hey, I DON’T CARE. Forget about Gal’s sub-par acting, any potential plot holes, or any lack of logic. Wonder Woman is a damn goddess and the 80s backdrop looks so fun! I mean, that golden suit of armor is perfection!
