At the weekend box office: “Joker” made another $55 million, holding onto the #1 spot for the second straight week. That’s also a record for the biggest SECOND weekend in October. (The previous record was set by Gravity in 2013)
Speaking of Joker…SNL had an amazing parody which combined Joker with Sesame Street. It’s the dark and twisted mashup you never knew you wanted!
The Addams Family opened in 2nd making $30.3M, while Gemini Man did okay debuting in 3rd with $20.5M. Abominable ($6.2M) and Downton Abbey ($4.9M) made up the rest of the Top 5 movies this weekend.
It was an impressive weekend for super-human athletes! Simone Biles has officially become the most decorated gymnast in history! Yesterday she earned her 25th career medal at the Gymnastics World Championships in Germany. 19 of those medals are GOLD. Simone is now preparing for the 2020 Olympics, which she says will be her last.
Also over the weekend, 15 year old Coco Gauff became the youngest pro tennis champion in 15 years. If you remember, she did lose in the qualifying rounds of the Women’s Tennis Tournaments, but she got another chance after a player pulled out with an injury. Coco did not waste her extra shot.

At the Chicago Marathon, Brigid Kosgei won the women’s race with a time of 2 hours, 14 minutes, 4 seconds… which broke a record that was set 16 years ago.
Another impressive marathon runner made lots of headlines this weekend. Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge ran a full marathon in 1 hour, 59 minutes and 40 seconds! He’s the 1st human being to ever run a marathon in under 2 hours. That means he ran at a steady pace of about 4 and a half minutes a mile! Even if my life depended on it, I could never run that fast.
The Property Brothers just finished renovating The Brady Bunch house to look exactly like it did in the TV show and now they’re eyeing the Golden Girls House! It’s located in Los Angeles, and like the Brady Bunch house, was only used to exterior shots. The inside looks nothing like what was shown. Drew and Jonathan Scott were on The Kelly Clarkson show last week where they told her they would love to renovate that home next, unfortunately it’s not currently on the market. If it were, it would be worth about $3 million!
