Remember the story about the boy who was bullied for making his own University of Tennessee t-shirt and then the school went and made it an official design? A portion of the sales from his shirts are going to an anti-bullying organization … and now they’re offering the 4th grader a 4 year scholarship to the school beginning in the fall of 2028 if he chooses to attend the University of Tennessee and meets admission requirements. Oh you know he’s gonna go.
Be careful what you put on your face! A 47-year-old mom in California is in a coma after apparently using face cream that was tainted with mercury. She’d been using the product every day for two years when she went to the ER complaining of numbness, slurred speech and difficulty walking. Now she’s fighting for her life. I guess there is an underground network of black-market suppliers known for bringing altered skin creams into the U.S. and then selling them at swap meets and flea markets. A BLACK MARKET FOR BEAUTY CARE?! I had no idea!
The White Sox lost against the Royals last night, but something cool did happen at the game. A 112 year old die hard Sox fan got the chance to attend a game for the first time ever! His name is CP Crawford and with the help of community activist Andrew Holmes he got to make his baseball dreams come true. The White Sox hooked him up with club level seats, they gave him a jersey with the number 112, and then honored him on the video board during the game.
FRIDAY THE 13th! Look up tonight at the Full Moon! It’s pretty rare that we have one ON Friday the 13th. It last happened in 2000 and won’t happen again until 2049. You know what else is of note today…
