The Mid-American Conference and ESPN announced the game times for four Northern Illinois University football games on Thursday, including the 2024 season opener versus Western Illinois, which will kick off at 2:30 p.m. (CT) on ESPN+ on Saturday, August 31.

NIU’s home game versus Akron on Wednesday, November 13 is one of three November #MACtion game times announced. That game, the Huskies only weekday home game in 2024, kicks off at 6 p.m. (CT) and will air on ESPN2, ESPNU or CBS Sports Network.

The Huskies’ game at Western Michigan on Wednesday, November 6 will begin at 6 p.m. on either ESPN2 or ESPNU, while the November 19 game at Miami will start at either 6, 6:30 or 7 pm (CT) depending on which network (ESPN2/ESPNU/CBS Sports Network) airs the game.

Television determinations are made six to 12 days prior to the game.

Sat., August 31 – Western Illinois (H) 2:30 pm CT on ESPN+

Weds., November 6 – at Western Michigan (A) 6 pm CT on ESPN2 OR ESPNU

Weds., November 13 – Akron (H) 6 pm CT on ESPN2 OR ESPNU OR CBS Sports Network

Tues., November 19 – at Miami (A) 6 OR 6:30 OR 7 pm CT on ESPN2/ESPNU/CBS Sports Network

On Wednesday, NIU learned that its September 7 game at Notre Dame will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT and air on NBC and Peacock. Game times for the Huskies’ remaining games will be announced at a later date.
