High school football season is getting underway, and a limited number of fans can attend the games. Football games begin next weekend, as boys soccer also gets underway. The Illinois Department of Public Health announced Monday that fans can attend outdoor sports games, but at 20%t of the venue’s capacity. Currently, there is a limit on 50 people per game for indoor sports. Attendance at girls volleyball matches, which also begin soon, will remain at 50 because they are still played indoors.

Sandwich High School visits Sycamore for the Spartans’ first game March 19, while DeKalb takes on Metea Valley at home March 20. The Illinois High School Association also announced yesterday that traditional spring sports, including track and field, baseball, softball and boys tennis, will have a post season this June.
