ROCKFORD — The Winnebago County Health Department will provide six free COVID-19 vaccine, booster shot and flu shot sites in the area this week.

COVID-19 vaccines are available for everyone ages 5 and older. Children ages 5-17 will receive the Pfizer vaccine. People 18 and older can pick Pfizer, Moderna or Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) for their first vaccine or booster shot.  Those who receive a second COVID-19 vaccine or COVID-19 booster shot should bring their vaccination record card to their appointment.

COVID-19 boosters for Pfizer and Moderna are available for anyone 18 and older who has been fully vaccinated at least six months prior. Janssen booster shots are available to anyone who received its vaccine at least two months prior.

Free flu shots will be available at the same time.

All vaccines are given by appointment only.  Register at wchd.org.

When: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday

When: 8 a.m. to noon Saturday
