Money Smart Week DeKalb is an annual, week-long opportunity to gain the financial wellness, education, and preparation to navigate life’s financial needs.
Kishwaukee United Way, Econ Illinois, and local partners are excited to continue the national Money Smart Week (MSW) initiative in DeKalb, LaSalle, and Lee County communities. This initiative brings together businesses, financial institutions, schools, libraries, not-for-profits, government agencies, and the media to share information and resources on personal finance topics.
Members of the community and financial literacy experts present information at many locations throughout Financial Literacy Month (April). ALL PROGRAMMING IS FREE, covering many facets of personal finance, such as:
- establishing a budget
- first time home buying
- estate planning
- couponing
- saving and investing
- tax planning
- college costs
