The DeKalb Park District is excited to now host the annual Kite Fest on Sunday, September 13, 11am-4pm! The event will be held at a new location, Kiwanis Park, located at Fairview and South 4th Street.
This event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and see some amazing kites! Everyone will enjoy giant inflatable kites and dancing kites all high up in the sky, plus some fun, seasonal activities!
Participants must pre-register for this free event and choose a Kite Fest activity time slot.
The event will be split up into two waves: 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and 1:30 – 3:30 pm.
Each of these waves will then be split up into A and B groups:
A: Kite flying the first hour and activities the second hour
B: Activities for the first hour and kite flying for the second hour
Activities will be held in the park shelter. Kite flying will be held on the west side of the park, west of the gravel road. Participants can either bring their own kite or buy one at the event! Reserve your spot today!
