DeKalb County ROE – ALIGNING PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN

The third workshop of the DeKalb ROE’s series on kindergarten readiness and transition will take place on Thursday February 27th from 6:30 to 8pm at the Regional Office of Education, Blank Slate Room.

The focus will be on how we can use the Illinois Early Learning and Development standards as a common tool for preparing our students for kindergarten, regardless of the Pre-K site they attend. Participants will learn how to address the challenge of working in a large district with multiple elementary schools when each has different expectations. Ms. Bodine will model how to teach foundational kindergarten skills in developmentally appropriate ways. Participants will also have time to network with colleagues.
