Jessie from the DeKalb County Barn Tour Committee was this mornings Guest DJ. She discussed the 9th annual DeKalb County Barn Tour that is taking place this Saturday August 12th from 9a-4p. This years tour includes several barns of various architectural styles. The 2023 DeKalb County Barn Tour allows you to take in the history, sights and sounds of DeKalb County's historical farmland. Jill from the Sycamore Public Library was my Guest DJ today! We talked all about some events coming up in November. You can see the full scheduled at their website HERE.

Some of the events we highlighted include:

• Book Genre “Tasting” - Saturday November 4th at 11am. Adults can join Jana to try out some new books. Meet your new favorite genre in a timed “tasting”: using the book menu as your guide, take 10 minutes to read through a book, note your rating, and when the timer goes off, move on to another choice. Light snacks will be provided.  Registration Required For This Event.

• Puzzle Exchange Party - Sunday November 5th at 1:30pm. Join us for another puzzle exchange party to drop off your old puzzle and pick up a new-to-you one. Drop in any time from 1:30-4pm or stay the whole time to work on a puzzle. Light snacks and refreshments served.  No registration required.

• Visit from Abe Lincoln: Lincoln and Thanksgiving - Sunday November 19th at 2pm. President Abraham Lincoln returns to Sycamore Library. During this all-ages program, Mr. Lincoln will share the story of how our national, annual observance of Thanksgiving came to be established during his Presidency. There will be time for Q&A and photos with the President in his period dress at the end of his speech.  No registration required.
