After beating Bowling Green and Miami (OH) at home this past weekend, the Northern Illinois University volleyball team (13-4,6-1 MAC) continues to rake in Mid-American Conference Player of the Week awards. Ella Mihacevich (Brunswick, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) earned the MAC West Setter of the Week nod while Charli Atiemo (Milford, Mich./Farmington Hills Mercy) earned the MAC West Defensive Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.

Mihacevich brings in her second-straight and third Setter of the Week award of the year after posting 82 assists (11.71/set) through the two wins. Against BGSU on Friday, Mihacevich had a match-high 46 assists and nine digs in the four-set win. She rounded out her weekend against Miami with another match-high 36 assists plus nine digs, two blocks, a kill and an ace. Mihacevich currently ranks No. 24 nationally in assists-per-set with 10.63.

Atiemo tallied 15 blocks (2.14/set) to win her second MAC Player of the Week honor this season. The middle started the weekend with six blocks (five block assists and one solo) plus a pair of digs versus Bowling Green. She broke her career-high the following day against Miami with nine total blocks and again had two digs. Atiemo is fifth in the MAC in blocks-per-set with 1.14. Moreover, her .391 hitting percentage is the second best in the league.
