The holidays are a time of giving! Usually every year there are toy drives or collections for kids in needs. Sometimes, coming up with ideas to donate can be a little daunting. It doesn’t have to be! Reddit has compiled a list of the best gifts to donate to those toy drives. Here are some tips and some suggestions on items to help take the pressure off donating:

  • Things that do not require batteries. There’s no guarantee the recipient will have access to them. Best to avoid those.
  • Keep older kids in mind. You’ll want to look for age appropriate things for pre-teens or teens. Often times, they get forgotten in toy drives as they are harder to shop for. Something as simple as a basketball, a football, som earbuds, or something practical they can use.
  • Enlist help from you own kids or nephews/nieces. Kids know what other kids want! This will also empower them to want to donate/help out as well.
  • When all else fails, Lego will do the trick. All kids, and some adults, love Lego. You can find intricate builds and also basic brick sets. Lots of variety.
