Summer Camp is the best way for children to have fun, play, be outside, do something they love and make new friends!

DeKalb Park District will be offering 4 different summer camps this year, for children of all ages.

1 . Camp Discover – Kindergarten through 6th grade

This camp is a summer day camp that offers games, craft activities, theme days, swimming and so much more. Camp Discover is offered Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, with an After Camp Flex Hour from 5:00-6:00 pm, at the Sports and Recreation Center, located at 1765 S. 4th Street. The cost is $140 per week and there are no residency restrictions. Camp Discover begins June 1st, with a parent meeting virtually on May 11 at 6 p.m.

2 . Dance-a-Story Summer Camp – Ages 3-6 and 7-10

The Park District is teaming up with Dimensions Dance Academy to offer a once a week camp centered around a different Disney Princess each week! Dance Camp for ages 3-6 is 9:30-11:30 am and ages 7-10, from 10:00 am-noon. The fee is $60 per camp or $225 for all four camps and will take place at Dimensions Dance Academy, located at 134 E. Lincoln Highway. Princesses are Moana, July 6-8; Rapunzel, July 13-15; Ariel, July 20-22; and Elsa, July 27-29.

3 . Chess Wizard’s – Ages 6-12

Choose between full or half day chess camp at the Sports and Recreation Center, June 21-25, or August 15-20. FUll day is from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and half day is from 9 a.m. – noon. Campers will participate in exciting, strategy-themed physical activities, drawing from both classic and new summer camp games. Full camp is $320, and half camp is $195.

4 . Camp Maple Leaf – Ages 5-18

Camp Maple Leaf is offered through Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association. Children of all abilities are invited to enjoy a rewarding and fun summer experience from June 7 – July 23rd.
