The Television Academy announced their Emmy nominations yesterday and Netflix dominated scoring 160 nominations–a record for any network or streaming platform. As for the shows that got the most love: HBO’s Watchmen is up for 26 awards while Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has 20 nominations.

One of the big surprises came for Disney + whose Star Wars series The Mandolorian got A LOT of love – scoring 15 nominations including one for Outstanding Drama Series. Look at Baby Yoda winning over the award show snobs!

AppleTV+ also got its first Emmy nod when Jennifer Aniston was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for The Morning Show. That’s Jen’s first ever dramatic acting nomination.

Brad Pitt also amusingly got a guest actor nomination for his portrayal of Dr Fauci on SNL this year.

Netflix’s Tiger King scored six Emmy nominations. It’s up against Michael Jordan’s The Last Dance in the outstanding documentary category.

Who got snubbed? Reese Witherspoon. She was overlooked for three big performances: in Big Little Lies, The Morning Show and Little Fires Everywhere.

Winners will be announced (virtually?) on September 20th.
