Yesterday was Wednesday, and Netflix decided to celebrate by announcing that they are developing a Wednesday Addams live-action series with Tim Burton on board as producer and director. It’s actually Tim Burton’s TV directorial debut.

Here’s the official Wednesday logline from Netflix: “The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”

Netflix hasn’t announced any casting or release dates yet. Previous actresses that have taken on the role are Lisa Loring in the original ’60s show, Christina Ricci in the early ’90s movies, and she was most recently voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz in the animated movies.
