There are multiple ways to volunteer at the DeKalb Public Library. For adults, there are opportunities to do things like sorting books, event help, possibility of program development, and office duties. They also have a VolunTeen program for kids ages 12-17 or grades 7-12. Virtual volunteer opportunities available year-round In-person volunteer opportunities offered when available. Virtual Opportunities include things like writing or filming a video review of a book, a graphic novel, or an audiobook for teens, attending and participating in a virtual advisory group or book discussion for tweens or teens, and commenting on and sharing three posts from one of the library’s social media accounts. In person opportunities would include helping to set up a book display, facing the books on a book shelf, and preparing supplies for a library program or a Take & Make Craft.
