The DeKalb Park District invites the community to participate in the 18th annual fundraising  event, Golf Fore the Kids Scholarship Golf Outing, on Friday, June 7, at River Heights Golf Course, located  at 1020 Sharon Drive. Check-in is at 10:00 am, with a shotgun start at 11:00 am. Afternoon appetizers  and the award ceremony begin roughly around 4:00 p.m. In case of inclement weather, Friday, June 28,  is the scheduled rain date for this event. 

All proceeds from the event benefit the Scholarship Assistance Program, a vital initiative that helps  provide DeKalb residents access to recreational opportunities that they would otherwise be unable to  participate in due to financial constraints. The funds go towards both park district programs and access  to facilities. Each year, the District provides thousands of dollars to families in DeKalb to participate in  recreation programs like memberships, summer camps, athletic leagues, and more. The program has made a significant difference in the lives of many families, and its continued success relies on the  generous support of the DeKalb community members and businesses. 

Participants may sign up for the outing as a twosome ($170) or a foursome ($310). The cost includes 18  holes of golf, a cart, a swag bag, a shirt, lunch, two drink tickets, music, afternoon appetizers, and a  great time! Participation will also give you a chance to win one of four golden ticket prizes valued at  more than $150! There will be many opportunities to play on-course games, win raffle prizes, or  participate in our silent auction. 

The event raised more than $12,000 in 2023. Staff would love to surpass those numbers and provide  even more support to DeKalb residents in the coming year! Businesses are invited to show community  support and participate in the event in various ways. They can become sponsors, donate, sign up for golf, or make a charitable contribution in any amount to the Scholarship Assistance Program. Your  support can make a significant difference in the lives of DeKalb families.
