Snow Routes to Take Effect

Snow routes in the City of DeKalb will take effect at 6 a.m. Tuesday.

With seven to 11 inches of snow expected Monday night through Tuesday, the Public Works Department is preemptively putting snow routes into effect as allowed under Ordinance 51.21. Beginning at 6 a.m. Tuesday, parking will be prohibited along all streets marked with snow route signs until plow is completed.

All residents, including those who do not live on snow routes, are encouraged to use off-street parking to aid snow removal.

The activation of snow routes comes as DeKalb is under a Winter Storm Warning from 8 p.m. Monday until midnight Tuesday night.
