The Rockefeller Christmas tree has caused quite a stir this year. For one, the tree is pretty sad and scrawny looking with a lot of dead branches. It’s quite the metaphor for 2020, isn’t it?
Then, they found a tiny owl in the tree! The owl, nicknamed “Rockefeller,” was discovered during tree transport after 3 days without food and water. It is now recovering at a wildlife facility about two hours from 30 Rock.
A lot of people are pointing at the situation as reason to rethink this tradition of cutting down trees for the holidays and disturbing the habitats of these animals.
Regardless, the tree lighting ceremony will be on December 2nd.
