Sluzas And Krammer Earn Men’s Golf All-MAC Honors

Seniors Ben Sluzas (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) and Felix Krammer (Waakirchen, Germany/Arkansas State) of the Nothern Illinois University men’s golf team earned All-MAC honors from the Mid-American Conference on Friday.

 

Krammer was named to the All-MAC First Team after leading NIU with a scoring average of 72.171. His scoring average is the third-best in program history. On Sept. 29 Krammer tied the NIU single-round scoring record with a 64 in the opening round of the Badger Invitational. He finished the tournament tied for second at -7 to lead NIU to the team title and earned MAC Golfer of the Week. Krammer posted a career-low 54-hole score of 206 at the White Sands Collegiate Oct. 25-27. He finished tied for sixth at this week’s MAC Championship.

 

“Felix played his best golf of his career this year,” said head coach John Carlson. “Earning First Team All-MAC honors is his reward for four top-10s and eight top-20 finishes in our difficult schedule.”

 

This is Krammer’s second All-MAC selection in his career. He was a Second Team selection last season. Krammer is the fifth Huskie in NIU men’s golf history to earn multiple All-MAC honors.

 

Sluzas earned his third All-MAC selection, becoming the first NIU men’s golfer since Mick Soli from 1974-76 to earn three consecutive All-MAC honors. He was placed on the All-MAC Second Team for the second straight year. Sluzas was second on the team in scoring average at 72.486 and had three top-five finishes. He tied for fifth at the Badger Invitational and was third at Iowa’s Hawkeye Invitational.

 

“Ben leaves NIU with his name all over our record book,” Carlson said. “His leadership and dedication to making gains daily set the bar for all future Huskies.”

 

Sluzas’ career scoring average of 72.809 is the lowest in NIU men’s golf history. He holds three of the top-five lowest single-season scoring averages in program history as well.

 

NIU took fourth place at the 2025 MAC Championship, it’s fourth consecutive season placing in the top four.
