SIX HUSKIES NAMED TO CSC ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM
Six student-athletes on the 2024 Northern Illinois University football team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Football Team released Tuesday (Jan. 7).
NIU’s eight CSC Academic All-District honorees include three of the Huskies’ five starting offensive linemen in 2024, led by first team All Mid-American Conference guard J.J. Lippe. The Huskies ranked second in the MAC in total offense and rushing offense in 2024 and led the league in fewest sacks allowed. He was joined on the CSC Academic All-District list by senior Evan Buss and redshirt sophomore Evan Malcore, who posted the highest GPA among NIU’s eight All-District choices with an undergraduate GPA in accountancy of 3.902.
In addition to the three offensive linemen, senior fullback Brock Lampe, kicker Kanon Woodill and wide receiver/punt returner Dane Pardridge received Academic All-District recognition. Lampe earned his third Academic All-District honor, while Lippe, Buss and Woodill were all named to the list for the second time with Pardridge and Malcore first-time honorees.
Based on his academic and athletic achievements, Lippe will advance to the national ballot and be considered for CSC Academic All-America honors.
In order to be considered for CSC Academic All-District consideration, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and have a minimum grade point average of 3.50 (undergraduate and graduate). Nominees must have competed in 90 percent of the team’s games or have started at least two-thirds of the games.

The NIU Football team wrapped up the 2024 season with an 8-5 record, culminating with a double overtime victory over Fresno State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and highlighted by a 16-14 win over fifth-ranked Notre Dame, the first win by a Mid-American Conference team over a Top Five team.
