Huskie fans can now help those in need and help themselves to half-price tickets to Northern Illinois University football, volleyball and basketball games as NIU Athletics and Northwestern Medicine have teamed up to support local food pantries this fall.
At all NIU football, volleyball and basketball home games beginning October 3, fans can drop off a non-perishable food item in the marked boxes next to the ticket office windows and automatically become eligible to purchase select tickets at a 50 percent discount. The offer is good for one ticket per game per person for single game tickets only.
Boxes will be located outside the ticket office windows on both the east and west sides of Huskie Stadium on football game days, and inside Entrance 2 near the ticket windows at the Convocation Center on basketball and volleyball game days. In addition, fans can deposit items and purchase tickets during the week at the Convocation Center Ticket Office Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
For the 115th Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 8, half-price tickets are $20 for seats located on the West Side, while football tickets for the remaining three games are $15 with the discount. With your donation of a non-perishable food item, see any Huskie volleyball match for just $3. Half-price tickets for basketball are $5 for men’s games and $4 for women’s games. Those seasons get underway on October 29 (women) and October 31 (men).
The promotion is good for all NIU regular season home games through November 30. Food items will be delivered to local food pantries throughout the region. The Huskie Food Drive is supported by Northwestern Medicine.
