There is a lot that we haven’t learned about space yet. If you think about it, we are just a tiny little planet floating in this huge galaxy, and scientists are still exploring and learning.

Astronomers have now discovered X-rays being produced from the mysterious, ice giant planet. This will help scientists learn more about Uranus.

On Wednesday, March 31st, a study was published in the Journal of Geophysical Researchthat examined two different visuals of Uranus which were taken by the Chandra Observatory in 2002 and 2017.

According to NBC News, “The first observation revealed a clear detection of X-rays, and the second revealed a possible flare of X-rays on the ice giant, a planet mainly composed of elements heavier than hydrogen and helium.”

NASA says on its website the culprit to blame is, “mainly the sun.” but the Journal of Geophysical Research says, “there are tantalizing hints that at least one other source of X-rays is present.”
