Thanks to the bill signed by Governor J.B. Pritzker in June, Illinois is set to become the 11th state to legalize recreational marijuana. Soon, Rockford will have a licensed recreational cannabis dispensary. Mapleglen Care Center, on Stenstrom Rd. in Rockford, already has a license to sell medical marijuana. As of New Years Day, Mapleglen will also be licensed to sell recreational marijuana.

While possessing marijuana will be legal on the first of the year,  there are some limits. You must be 21+ to purchase recreational marijuana. Also, you can’t possess more than 30 grams.
