James Bond is about to take on The Rock.
Pierce Brosnan has been cast in his first superhero role, playing the DC Comics hero Dr. Fate opposite of Dwayne Johnson in the movie “Black Adam”. Dr. Fate is the son of an archeologist who was taught sorcery skills and given the magical Helmet of Fate.
Such a pleasure to announce the final member of our #JusticeSociety, the bad ass statesman,
Mr @PierceBrosnan as the iconic and all knowing, DR. FATE.
I’m grateful to have such a talented, diverse and hungry cast. #BlackAdam⚡️https://t.co/3gyTgP9MQ9— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) March 24, 2021

His casting announcement is the final piece in DC’s big-screen adaptation of Justice Society of America which includes other supers like Hawkman (to be played by Aldis Hodge), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell).
The “Black Adam” film is a follow up to 2019’s “Shazam”. The two characters are arch rivals in the DC Universe, so we’re bound to see them square off in the future. “Black Adam” is expected to begin production next month.
