Did you have a Marketplace insurance plan for 2025? If so, your healthcare.gov account was  migrated to Get Covered Illinois (GCI), the new state-based Marketplace system.  

DeKalb County Health Department encourages community members who were enrolled in a  2025 Marketplace Insurance plan to check your new GCI account! Most clients were  automatically enrolled in a GCI plan, and there is a good chance that your monthly premiums  have increased for the 2026 plan year. 

January 15 is the last day to submit an application for Marketplace insurance. After January 15,  individuals will not be able to make any changes to their 2026 enrollment unless they  experience a special qualifying life event.  

The health department offers healthcare enrollment assistance for Marketplace insurance. Our  Health Promotion Specialist is a Certified Application Counselor and is bilingual in English and  Spanish. Appointments are required. To make an appointment, call 815-748-2498.
