Northern Illinois University head men’s golf coach John Carlson announced on Friday the addition of Scott Rescigno to the Huskies’ roster for the 2022-23 season.

Rescigno comes to DeKalb as a transfer from New Mexico State University and will have two years of eligibility. As a sophomore this past year, Rescigno played in five tournaments for the Aggies with a scoring average of 74.40. He had a pair of top-20 finishes with a 17th-place showing at New Mexico State’s Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in October and tied for 10th at the Lone Star Invitational this past September. As a freshman Rescigno also had two top-20 showings in five tournaments.

“I am so excited and grateful to become a Huskie,” said Rescigno. “This program is building something special and I am honored to be joining a championship culture. I’m excited to be joining a team with a winning culture, top facilities and a great support staff for Student-Athletes.”

A native of Reno, Nev., Rescigno was a three-time All-State selection at Galena High School. He represented Nevada twice at the Boy’s Junior America’s Cup and had five Amateur Junior Golf Association top-10 finishes as a prep.

“Scott brings a high level of competitive experience from college golf into our program,” Carlson said. “His commitment confirms that NIU Golf boasts one of the best schedules in the country which has helped attract the best talent in recruiting.”

Rescigno joins newcomers Ian Bruchhauser (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak HS) and Campbell Wolf (Mechanicsburg, Pa./East Tennessee State) for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
