A new partnership between NIU Athletics through its multimedia rights partner, Van Wagner, and Jersey Mike’s will see the sub shops’ iconic logo adorn the field at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium throughout the 2024 season.

Through a new NCAA rule passed over the summer, logos of corporate partners may now be added to the playing surfaces of member institutions, providing exposure for the company and a new asset for schools and their multimedia rights holders.

“We are excited to begin this partnership by adding the Jersey Mike’s logo to the playing surface of Brigham Field,” said NIU Vice President and Director of Athletics and Recreation Sean T. Frazier. “The ability to add on-field commercial logos provides NIU Athletics, working with Huskie Athletics Sponsorships, another revenue stream that will translate into additional support for all NIU teams and student-athletes. Jersey Mike’s is a nationally-recognized brand that is also very visible right here in our community, making this a great fit for our first sponsorship of this type.”

The Jersey Mike’s logo, which is painted in both the northeast and southwest quadrants of the field near the 35-yard lines, will be highly visible to both fans in attendance and to the national audience which watches Huskie games on over the air networks and via streaming platforms throughout the football season.

The Jersey Mike’s logos have been added to the field in time for Saturday’s NIU home football game between the No. 23 ranked Huskies and Buffalo. Kickoff is at 2:30 p.m. and the game will be available on ESPN+.
