Welsh Park at 651 Russell Road has been updated and improved! You’re invited to the Welsh Park Dedication!

Welsh Park has been the topic of discussion in many public input meetings and presentations since 2019. The park needed a refresh, playground needed replacing and some of the amenities were no longer in use and in disrepair.

After a master plan was approved and a grant secured, Upland Design and Irving Construction got to work on renovating the park in July 2020.

  • pickleball courts

PLUS, The District also teamed up with DeKalb County Regional Office of Education to provide a home for their interactive Basics DeKalb County Toddler Garden, which offers early childhood a sensory play experience.

Saturday, May 15th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. there will be a dedication of Welsh Park. Their will be recognition speeches, ribbon-cutting, pop-up activities, refreshments and of course TONS of fun at the park. There will also be ‘Minute-to-Win-It’ family-friendly games with prizes, a demonstration on pickleball and open basketball. There will be on-site raffles too of kids’ gardening kits and doing a Plant Buddy kids’ craft.

The weather is getting warmer, and if weather permits, the splash pad will be officially turned on for the season at this time.
