His loyal followers call him Mr. Scrappity. He’s a YouTube sensation and he’s right here in DeKalb, IL.

I’m not gunna lie, this guy is a genius. Mr. Scrappity cruises the streets of DeKalb and picks up junk that is left at the side of the road for garbage day and turns it into cold hard cash.

Maybe you’ve seen him before? Or maybe he’s grabbed your trash and made big bucks!

His YouTube Channel, Scrap & Pallet Man, has over 177,000 subscribers and his videos average 100,000 views plus each week.

He finds scraps, antiques, furniture, bicycles, lawnmowers and more on his weekly trips trash picking. He’s found some SERIOUSLY awesome items and I just spent the last hour going down the trash picking rabbit hole with him.

He takes his followers along in his truck and shows what he finds and how he makes a living off of other peoples junk. My favorite video I’ve seen is from a year ago titled “Craziest Things I Find in the Trash.”

I love watching his videos and even more so, learning about different items and their value.
