LRS has cancelled refuse and recycling collection service for Friday, Jan. 12 due to the winter storm.

The next pickup will be on customers’ regular collection day. LRS will be collecting additional materials placed out for collection on the regular pick-up days. Christmas trees will also be collected next week.

LRS suspended Friday’s collection following the temporary closure of the landfill and because of hazardous conditions for drivers. With conditions expected to deteriorate again, Friday’s service has been cancelled.

According to LRS, recovery service on Saturday will not be possible since many of the same service challenges will still apply. Additionally, dangerously cold temperatures next week will create more service-related issues.
