This special evening features tastings of more than 40 wines, craft beers, and spirits, along with food, games, raffles, and silent auction items — all in celebration of a century of faith-filled Catholic education in Sycamore.

Over 250 local community members joined us last year for this fun-filled event. This year’s celebration is even more meaningful as St. Mary’s Catholic School marks 100 years of educating the whole child — mind, body, and spirit.

Guests can expect beer, wine, and spirits tastings hosted by MVPs and Whiskey Acres, plus eight tables coordinated by Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits featuring more than 40 different tasting options. In honor of the centennial year, guests will also have the opportunity to reserve one of only 200 bottles of the exclusive 100th Anniversary Commemorative Bourbon, created in partnership with Whiskey Acres and bottled at 100 proof to mark this historic milestone.

Samples will be complemented by an assortment of food stations including a mashed potato bar, gourmet charcuterie table, and desserts. The evening will also include a Pot of Gold raffle with cash prizes up to $500, interactive games, and an exciting silent auction featuring footballs signed by two Chicago Bears players — wide receiver Rome Odunze and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds — specialty alcohol packages including Johnnie Walker Blue Label and Knob Creek (Eli Manning Pick), tickets to the Egyptian Theatre, Paramount Theatre, and much more.

“We are especially excited that our 5th annual Brews, Bottles & Blarney coincides with St. Mary School’s 100th Anniversary,” explained Principal Pat Strang. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our parish and community to celebrate a century of Catholic education while helping ensure a strong future for the next generation.”

Founded in 1926, St. Mary’s Catholic School has been part of Sycamore’s rich traditions for 100 years. Serving students from Pre-3 through 8th grade, the school is dedicated to spiritual formation, academic excellence, and service to others. Its low student-to-teacher ratio allows for a personalized approach to each child’s education, helping students grow in both faith and knowledge.

General Tickets are on sale now for $40 or $75 for a couple and include a commemorative tasting glass, with 100th Anniversary Package upgrade options available. The event will take place Saturday, March 7 from 4:00–7:30 PM at St. Mary’s Memorial Hall, 322 Waterman Street, Sycamore. The event is for guests 21 and older.
