Logan Gregorio Named To ABCA/Rawlings All-Midwest Second Team
Junior catcher Logan Gregorio (Naperville, Ill./Benedictine) of the Northern Illinois University baseball team earned ABCA/Rawlings Midwest All-Region Second Team honors on Tuesday as the American Baseball Coaches Association announced its All-Region Teams.
“Logan was instrumental in our offensive success this year,” said head coach Ryan Copeland. “His ability to hit for power consistently led us to break several single-season records.”
Gregorio is the first Huskie to earn All-Region honors since Kam Smith was selected to the First Team in 2021. He started all 54 games for NIU this season, the only position player to do so. Gregorio led NIU with a .332 batting average, 76 hits, 19 doubles, 18 home runs and an NIU single-season record 151 total bases. He posted a .659 slugging percentage as well as a .400 on-base percentage.
On March 10, Gregorio was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week after hitting .533 with a 1.267 slugging percentage in NIU’s series at Kent State. He had a season-high five hits and five RBI in the Huskies’ 14-8 win on March 8 over the Golden Flashes. Gregorio had 21 multi-hit games in 2025 with 12 games with at least three runs batted in.
His 18 home runs and 69 RBI are the second-most in a single season in NIU history. The Huskies, as a team, set single-season records this year with 82 home runs, 259 walks, 382 RBI and 416 runs scored. NIU scored a single-game program record 27 runs in a 27-11 win at Northwestern on April 15 and also drew a record 17 walks.
