Knights of Columbus to Hold Appreciation Pig Roast for DeKalb County First Responders
The DeKalb Knights of Columbus Council 717 will hold the 41st Annual DeKalb County First Responder Appreciation Pig Roast on Thursday, July 18 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1336 East Lincoln Highway in DeKalb. Police and fire personnel from each department in DeKalb County will be treated to a complimentary pulled pork dinner as a small gesture to say thank you for all they do in our communities. The public is invited to enjoy dinner and the entertainment as well.
The event has been held every year since 1983. The first several hog roasts were held on the Faivre family farm. Eventually the dinner moved to the Knights of Columbus building on Lincoln Highway.
Pulled pork dinners with all the fix’ns will be available for pick-up or dine-in. Guests will enjoy live music from the Beaux Band. A full cash bar will be available.
Tickets are on sale now at https://DeKalbPigRoast.eventbrite.com and are $20 plus processing. This event always sells out so tickets should be purchased soon.
Dinner will be served from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. The Beaux Band will perform rock classics from 6:30 to 9:30pm.
This event would not be possible without the generous support of the following local businesses: Pappas Development, County Financial Agents Dean Miller & Gavin Wilson, Old National Bank, Seymore of Sycamore, The Suter Company, and Daily Chronicle/Shaw Media. We also want to recognize the support of the City of DeKalb, the DeKalb Park District and Sycamore Park District.
Local businesses are encouraged to support the event by purchasing blocks of tickets for employees and attending as a group or purchasing meals for first responders. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated. Donations can be made through the ticket site, or by calling 815-751-5682.
