Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association to Host Veterans Pinning Ceremony
Everyone is invited to join Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association (KSRA) for the beginning of their Veterans Programming with a Pinning Ceremony. Doors will open at 5:30 for check in and appetizers. The ceremony will start at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 in DeKalb at Hopkins Park in the Terrace Room.
Veterans from the Vietnam War, Korean War and World War II will be honored during this ceremony to acknowledge their bravery and the sacrifices they made while serving. Medal of Honor Recipient & and author Army First Sergeant Allen Lynch will be the guest speaker at the ceremony.
KSRA is working with AllenForce to begin programming for veterans from all eras in DeKalb County. This free ceremony that is open to the public is only the start. KSRA is excited to start serving those who served our country.
Events for veterans will continue all year round, some will be open to families. KSRA will also host more pinning ceremonies in the future.
For those that fit the criteria and would like to receive a pin, registration is open on KSRA’s website kishsra.org, which can be found under the Programs tab. Registration closes Tuesday, March 19. An official flyer for the event is posted on KSRA’s Facebook and Instagram @ksra_fun.
