Mia Raines has signed with the Northern Illinois University Women’s Golf team for the 2024-25 season, as announced by NIU women’s head coach Kim Kester.

Raines is set to join the Huskies from Olentangy Berlin High School in Galena, Ohio, where she competed in varsity basketball and women’s golf. Raines was a two-time First Team All-Conference golf honorees and earned Second Team All-State honors her freshman season.

Raines was a District Medalist her freshman season with a 70 (-2) and the Ohio Division I State Tournament with a 73 (+2) the same year. With a low 18-hole round score of 75.7, Raines holds all of the scoring records for Olentangy Berlin.

Raines graduated Summa Cum Laude this past May and qualified for the Drive, Chip, and Putt National Championship at Augusta National in 2016. Raines comes from a golfing family as she had two older sisters compete for Youngstown State and Michigan State.

“We are excited to welcome Mia to the Huskie golf family. She is everything we look for in a student athlete. She has had great success on the golf course as well as in the classroom. We know Mia will make a great impact on NIU and are excited for her to be here in the fall!”

Raines joins Emma Thorman (Macomb, Ill.), Dakota Tallent (Las Vegas, Nevada), Alexa Ouellet (Toronto, Ontario, Canada), and Marissa Lerario (Roselle, Ill.) in the 2024-25 signing class.
