Lynn Herrmann, DCCG Board Member and committee chairperson said “I always enjoyed the Harvest Dinner that DCCG hosted, and Dinner for Good allows for the same experience while showcasing the organization’s work behind the scenes. It’s a great opportunity to see DCCG’s work up close and enjoy a delicious meal!”
DeKalb County has never seen the need for food rise so quickly and dramatically. In 2023, DCCG had served over 31,000 individuals—of varying ages—with over 300,000 pounds of food. This year, DCCG was chosen as a lead agency for the Local Food Purchasing Assistance (LFPA) grant which has allowed the organization to spend over 1.5 million dollars on local produce, protein, flour, and honey to distribute for free to all DeKalb County food pantries.
This unique dinner experience will showcase the professional culinary expertise of Josh Koroscik of Wild Carrot Cooking Company to create a delicious seasonal meal for guests. Music and conversation will round out the program.
Heather Edwards, DCCG’s Executive Director, shared, “DCCG plays a vital role in ensuring no one goes hungry.” She added, “Due to the high cost of living expenses and food, our neighbors are feeling the need for healthy food options now more than ever. This fundraiser is very important to keep DCCG at the forefront of ending food insecurity in DeKalb County.”
