Jaylen Poe Named To Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll
Redshirt-Freshman running back Jaylen Poe (Dallas, Ga./North Paulding) of the Northern Illinois University football team was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll on Tuesday for his performance in the Huskies’ 34-20 win over UMass last Saturday.
Poe had a career day against the Minutemen, carrying the ball 15 times for a career-high 98 yards and two touchdowns. His first touchdown run of 22 yards was a career-long rush and tied the game at 13 early in the third quarter. Poe also returned a kickoff 89 yards to the UMass four yardline to set up NIU’s final touchdown of the game. His 187 all-purpose yards are the second-most in a single game by a Huskie this season.
