Something to keep in mind as the weather gets colder, if you bottle of hand sanitizer freezes in your car, you might want to throw it away. Most hand sanitizers are alcohol-based, and shouldn’t freeze unless it reaches cold temps around negative-50 degrees. So if it freezes, it probably didn’t have enough alcohol it in and wasn’t effective.

Technically, yes alcohol-free hand sanitizers DO exist and some work just as well as the alcohol kind, but almost all the brands you see at stores contain alcohol. So if yours freezes, check the label. If it’s alcohol-based, throw it out.
