Northern Illinois University men’s basketball head coach Rashon Burno has added Oluwasegun Durosinmi to the Huskie roster for the upcoming 2022-23 season. Durosinmi becomes NIU’s seventh signee to its incoming class.

“Duro is a really important addition to this class and we are excited to welcome him into our family,” said Burno. “Outside of fulfilling our needs in the frontcourt, he brings tremendous value as a player who has experienced winning at a very high level and understands exactly what goes into that. He will bring us a great presence on the defensive end with his length, mobility and understanding of the game, but is also a very skilled offensive player who will be an instant force in the MAC.”

A native of Lagos, Nigeria, Durosinmi joins the Huskies from St. Bonaventure, where he was a redshirt freshman during the 2021-22 season, helping the Bonnies reach the NIT Final Four. He began his college career at Harcum College in Bryn Mawr, Pa., where he played 18 games during the 2020-21 season after graduating from high school early.

The 6-foot-9 Durosinmi averaged nearly a double-double (10.0 points and 9.9 rebounds) at Harcum, while starting all 18 games, helping the Bears to a 17-1 record. Durosinmi shot 62.2 percent from the field and recorded 4.3 blocks per game; his 78 total blocks ranked second in the nation in NJCAA Division I.

Durosinmi joins Xavier Amos (Chicago, Ill.) and David Coit (Princeton, N.J.), who signed with the Huskies in the fall, as well as Yanic Niederahuser (Fraschels, Switzerland), Zarique Nutter (Newark, N.J.), Armandas Plintauskas (Kedainiai, Luthuania) and Taku Youngblood (Yokohama, Japan) who joined the NIU men’s basketball program earlier this spring.
