94.9 WDKB presented this weeks #HometownHero award to:

Jennifer Yochem

Thanks to Rylie from DeKalb for nominating Jennifer. She said:

“If you’ve spent any amount of time in DeKalb County, you’ve probably worked alongside her, received services from her, or been indirectly impacted by her. Jennifer is an advocate, a visionary, a philanthropist, and a hero by all definitions. Time and time again, she exemplifies what it means to be a hometown hero. Most recently, she aided in the coordination and distribution of crisis relief for the 43+ individuals displaced by the apartment fire on Kimberly Drive on May 29th. Beginning at 6:00am on May 30th, she sent out a call to action to service providers, elected officials, and the community to support the families; by 10:30am, there was a plan in place to host a resource hub for the families just 24-hours later. Without her quick thinking and action, dedication, and thoughtfulness, there would be a major gap that would be felt far and wide in our community.”
