Graduating High School Musicians Encouraged to Submit Applications for KSO Scholarship – Deadline March 15, 2026

The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra invites DeKalb County high school senior musicians to apply for the KSO High School Musician Scholarship. The application deadline is March 15, 2026.

Students may apply for this scholarship by completing the online application. Students should be prepared to write an essay, to list their music and non-music activities and arrange for two letters of recommendation. The application and further details are available at https://kishorchestra.org/scholarships/.

The $1,000 award is given annually to one or more select high school student musicians who reside in DeKalb County, have played in an instrumental music ensemble in high school, such as orchestra or band, and will be a member of an instrumental music ensemble in college this fall.

Scholarship recipients will be announced at their high school awards nights and at the KSO Season Finale Concert: Springtime in Vienna, which will be held at 7:30 pm on May 2 in the Boutell Memorial Concert Hall, in the NIU Music Building, DeKalb.

For questions about eligibility and the application process, contact Deb Loitz, KSO Music Education Outreach chair, at musicoutreach@kishorchestra.org.
