Per Give DeKalb County Media Release:

Sycamore, IL 04/01/20 – Give DeKalb County is still planned for May 7, 2020 but walk-in donations have been cancelled due to COVID-19. In response, Give DeKalb County organizers have decided to allow donations by mail postmarked April 16 through May 7. Donors can also give through the website www.GiveDeKalbCounty.org from midnight to midnight on May 7.

Give DeKalb County is coordinated by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP), a program of the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The previous six giving days combined have raised over $2.5 million for participating nonprofit organizations.

“This year Give DeKalb County comes at a critical moment,” said DCNP Director, Ben Bingle. “Over 75 percent of nonprofits nationwide have had to cancel fundraising events due to COVID-19. They rely on these events to fund much-needed programs and for operational support. Now more than ever, Give DeKalb County can have a tremendous impact on local nonprofits and the communities they serve.”

Donations can be made online by credit card, debit card, ACH transfer, or Mobile Wallet from midnight to midnight on May 7 at www.GiveDeKalbCounty.org. Starting April 16, donors giving by check can print a donation form from the website, complete the form indicating the organization(s), and donation amount(s), then write a single check for the total amount payable to “DCCF.” Checks can be mailed to DeKalb County Community Foundation, 475 DeKalb Avenue, Sycamore, IL 60178.

“This is a challenge,” said Bingle.  “But, we’re in this together and for those in a position to donate, we ask for your support. Nonprofits are vital to our local communities and this is an opportunity to support their incredible work.”

The minimum online donation amount is $5 and there is no minimum for mailed donations. Every donation made during Give DeKalb County leverages a portion of matching funds from a bonus pool. Over 25 community partners have donated to the bonus pool so far.
